Snow Lion, the screenplay
Wangdu is a vigorous, handsome young man with the courage of a warrior and the longings of a yogi. It is the 1950s in Eastern Tibet; a time of great danger to his country, his monastery, his family and their way of life. The communist People’s Liberation Army is implementing social reform without popular consent and Wangdu, taking inspiration from his ancestor, King Gesar of Ling, takes a stand.
