Filipina Helpers in Hong Kong - Thousands of women from the Philippines live and work in the homes of wealthy Hong Kong families. They are forced into this kind of service because “there is no money in the Philippines”. In this documentary we will hear the stories of several of these women as well as see the homes in the Philippines that they had to leave in order to support their husbands and children.
Micro Loans in Vietnam - This documentary is in the initial, exploratory phase but the idea is to take a look at the work being done with people living in poverty in rural Vietnam. The program has helped families begin to emerge from poverty by simply giving them a cow. The cow gives milk and a source of income to the family. In time, the family is able pay back the loan and rise out of poverty.
